Leaving La Palma…
I will be off tomorrow, Sunday, probably about noon. It has been a fantastic five days here – warm weather, great atmosphere, pleasant people and relative freedom, especially being able to walk the streets and decide which restaurant to stop at! Who would have thought that such a small thing would seem so large in our lives?
After my two 7-day voyages so far, this one is in a different league! It’s about 2,700 nautical miles to Antigua (about 3,100 land miles). I would hope to cover it in 18 days, which would be 150 nautical miles a day (or 6.25 an hour). With a bit of luck the winds will blow steadily and I can go faster and get there a bit quicker. The trade winds are supposed to be reliable, but we shall see. No knowing until I’m there! So wish me luck as I head out into the great ocean…
Good luck! Like the photos in the gallery.
Thanks Pankaj!
God speed Hamre!
Wishing you a safe journey Hans, from your sister and the rest of the tribe in Norway! You have done very well so far! Keep up the good work! Hope you get to Antigua!
