Welcome! I have delayed getting this site up and running until I am close to setting off. I had initially hoped to be away by mid-January, but a last couple of things have been delayed by COVID-related factors (people doing the work being forced to isolate, etc.). With a bit of luck, and weather permitting, I should hopefully be off this coming weekend, the 13th/14th. Any updates will be posted here. And the page Where Are We should show our movement (it is supposed to update hourly).

As ever Hans does not like being told what to do. So after being told to lockdown by the UK government, he is escaping to the freedom of the open seas! Hans: I daresay this factor added to your resolve to set sail?
Your blog is excellent and has been so well set out. We are so fortunate to have this means to be able to track your voyage. The location feature ‘Where are we? is simply astounding – the wonders of modern technology. Manuka looks superb – every bit an ocean-going vessel.
I’m sure you will be delighted to leave the UK’s exceptionally cold winter and head to a warmer clime. I so admire your courage and sense of real adventure. You are living life to the fullest. Jane joins me in wishing you all the best as you set out on the voyage of a lifetime. Yours aye, John
