Leaving Durban finally….   Sunday, 04/05/2025

Everything has been fixed! (Hopefully!). I have been waiting for suitable weather for over a week now, and tomorrow appears to be a good day to set off.

Naturally I feel some trepidation! Not least because it’s now been almost 6 months since I’ve sailed, but also of course there’s the concern over technical things – I really hope that my bad luck in that regard is now over. 

It looks like there’s suitable weather until Friday, which means that I’m heading as far as Knysna on the Cape coast. It’s a sheltered lagoon, and a beautiful place to wait a few days for appropriate weather that will take me around the Cape of Good Hope and into Cape Town.
