Update: problems….  Wednesday, 02/04/2025

Apologies for not posting this sooner – I was hoping to have a breakthrough to report. 

My attempt to leave Durban failed – once again, autopilot trouble. And everything has proved to be difficult – and slow. A mechanical problem was fixed, but there proved to be electronic troubles too. Which caused a significant delay, partly because a new circuit board had to be ordered, but mainly because it took 8 days for money sent by my U.K. bank account to reach my electrical guy’s account here (an example of South African banks being incredibly slow to process incoming money from abroad). 

The result has simply been a very long delay. Everything is in place now, but a test run we did on Durban bay this morning was unsuccessful. 

I have had to do my best to keep in good spirits! Not always easy – but I’m sure that eventually all will be ok. 

I will post an update as soon as I know that I’m able to depart.
