Departure: Thursday 11th   Wednesday, 10/07/2024

We will be departing tomorrow, late morning. There is a reasonable weather window, which hopefully will mean avoiding particularly strong winds en route to Port Vila in Vanuatu. It’s difficult to say how long the voyage will take. It’s about 1,100 nautical miles; if wind is decent that would mean 8 days. But it does look like we will encounter a patch of very light wind about two-thirds of the way there. If this patch is large that will slow us down and mean at least 9 or possibly 10 days.

It will be good to be moving. Hopefully everything is in good shape and that we are not let down by any technical problems. I can only be optimistic.

It will be a very substantial change getting back into the tropics and having hot days and very mild nights, compared to mild days and very cold nights down here!

Wish us luck! I will post when we’ve arrived.
